What the hell? Intel has more share than ATI? with what ..??the IGP ?

And God said: Let there be Beer! And He saw that it was good. Then God said: Let there be light! And then He said: Whoa - too much light!! Jay Kay

Thats what I was about to ask: Intel sells More than ATI???

Could someone show me some more info on this??

==They say an ant can carry weights up to ten times its own weight... Thats very good to know if I ever need to move a potato chip across town.===

That has always been the case. Integrated graphics are a HUGE part of the industry. The number of business machines and low end Dells etc all have Intel's 'Extreme Greephuks' chips. The integrated market is enormous and this tells you exactly how so.
The real market WE follow is the add-in, however one of the most profitable for companies is the integrated. That's why Intel still does it.

Yeah until you realize how many of those computers are going to business and people whoe are simply surfing the .net

Heck how many people come to THIS site AND forum and ask about their DELLs?
Seriously WE are in the minority. Too many people just take whatever crap is bundled inside for ~$300-500.

What the heck is VIA doing making CPUs? Well some people don't need anything but a fancy typewriter / web-browser.

Sad but true, and yes in some ways unbelievable, like in the sense of 'What the hell were you guys thinking?!?' But there's a Dell Desktop user born every minute (the laptops aren't bad).

It's not just that. Most businesses have contracts with one of the large computer manufacturers. These contracts usually entail the business to purchase new computers within a set period, usually a year. These purchases are necessary, whether the computers the business is using are really outdated or not (most are just being used for word processing or accessing a server, they don't really need all the power available to them). This increases the net sales of these integrated video cards by absolutely massive numbers. We're talking in the hundreds of thousands of units, even the millions. Think of this market as the consumer market (which Ford fit into, and 99% of people fit into). Obviously, even though we know Ford sucks (being Ferrari drivers), people still buy them because they are cheap and do what they want.

The enthusiast market, which we belong to (and what Ferrari belongs to), is what drives the need to ever increase the speed of all computer hardware. Like Ferrari, it's admired by all, but very few are members. Be glad you're a member of the elite.
