Played what I considered to be an incredibly goofy concept at last
weekend's Milwaukee tournament - an almost all-Salubri crypt, no Clan
Impersonations and (hopefully) no paying of Scarce-cost. It did much
better than I expected - I ended up paying the Scarce cost only once in
3 rounds, picked up a couple of VPs and was a lot of fun to play.

Since people have asked about it, here's the deck after a post-tourney
tweaking to give it better forward motion:

---------------------

Deck name: Nightvision
Created by: John Flournoy
Description: The Salubri get Obtenebration, and use Descend into
Darkness to avoid paying the Scarce cost - if your current Salubri are
DiD'ed, there's no penalty for bringing out a new one! As a nice side
effect, this bloats them on blood, too. Once you flip them back up, the
Obtenebration provides additional stealth and S:CE-at-range. I had no
trouble bringing out all three Salubri consistently and keeping a lot
of pool. Vulnerable to vote decks, but at under 90 cards, easy enough
to adjust things if you want to plan against it.

Crypt (12)
4x Matthias AUS FOR OBE nec (7, Salubri) +1 intercept
3x Blanche Hill aus FOR OBE (6, Salubri) hunt special
3x Miriam Benyona AUS for obe (5, Salubri) rescue special

1x Maldavis AUS for pre (4, Caitiff)

Library (82)

Masters (18)
9 Obtenebration
3 Blood Doll
4 Minion Tap
1 Heidelburg Castle, Germany
1 Stranger Among Us

Actions (22)
6 Spirit Marionette
8 Descent into Darkness
3 Renewed Vigor
1 Sanguine Instruction
3 Pulse of the Canaille
1 Precognizant Mobility

Combat (9)
5 Anesthetic Touch
5 Shadow Body

Action Modifiers (21)
5 Shadow Play
4 Shroud of Night
1 Daring the Dawn
4 Repulsion
5 Freak Drive
2 Neutral Guard

Reactions (10)
5 Wake with Evening's Freshness

Yes, I did indeed face Dan's Tzimisce deck with this. I'm guessing his
tourney report is sadly in a language I can't read...

Some ideas to make it more competitive are already incorporated into
this version - this is how the deck looks after I tweaked it
post-tourney to make it more competitive. (For instance, the deck
as-played against Dan had no Pulses.)

You should add more daring the down, since you doesnt take the damage
after the DiD is resolved, replacing the neutral guards maybe, or the
shroud of night (and trade them with me :-p).

True, I didn't even consider using Daring the Dawn on the DiD's. It's
mostly in there for the 'spirit marionette a minion with Fortitude and
torpor him' aspect.

The Neutral Guards are pretty handy - once Matthias gets OBT, they're
'unblockable by under-9-caps or allies', and without going to torpor.
I've actually considered adding more.

OHH, i didnt thought of that that, then you should add a lot more :p at
least 5, maybe 7 if you are going to use that trick that many times,
and miriam can rescue from torpor very well if you add more neutral
guards consider adding 1 signet of king saul to make mattias
unblockable.
When i ran my salubri deck i also added 2 disciplines: fortitude to
play them on blanche or on a minion controlled by my prey to steal it
and send it to torpor

The Signet is already in the decklist for that purpose, yes. :P

Considering the deck already has 9 discipline masters (and 18 masters
total), probably not a good plan. There's almost no circumstance in
which you're better off drawing a Fortitude master than an
Obtenebration master for this specific deck (unless you've already
drawn at least 6 Obt cards.)

Yeah, and the sad part is that I did not once use the two together - it
hadn't even occured to me when I was building the deck. (Nobody really
tried to block the DiD in the first place, either.) The Daring the Dawn
was in there for the 'Spirit Marionette a vamp with fortitude -> they
dare the dawn on the bleed and finish in torpor' trick.
