Mx 440 tv out problem for divx

hi, my friend got any Msi geforce mx 440 8x with vivo . the problem is when he wants to watch movies on tv the divx movies don't work its just show black screen with sound only where as the vcd,dvds work fine what can be the problem ? His ATI AIW the divx movies used to work .. help he is dying :)

OMG this is bad an is almost universally an nVidia problem. It has to do with the TV-Out chip the company that made his card used. It's the same problem that affects DVD playback, so information can be found <A HREF="http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/nvidia/" target="_new">HERE</A>

Set your tv as primary display. It's a video memory thingy.

Don't bother upgraden your PC, Microsoft wil alwayse be able to slow it down.

There should be several other links on that page, and it depends on the TV-Out chip itself as to which patch you would use.

Of course you could always try what the last guy said. The last card I had a problem with was a GeForce2 MX400, but some companies continued to use problematic TV-out chips far later.
