Well from the way their drivers have gone recently ie. 3.2 I am looking foward to seeing some awesome drivers. I am gonna try to find out some info though. I'll paste the link if I find one ok?

Or maybe they´re trying to counter the NV35 with a really fast driver, NV35 is supposed to be released at about the same time as Catalyst 3.4. One can hope, right?

Apparently there was a problem with the WHQL certification test, and they couldn´t wait for it to be fixed, so they skipped the 3.3 release and moved on.

The new version will allow the DivX player to utilize Fullstream on R300´s. It will also have a new color control tab. 9700 cards will benefit the most from v.3.4.

I´m starting to feel like a real computer consultant.

Actually this was covered by the discussion in Rage3D's forum with a head Catalyst developer Terry Makedon. Supposedly it was an issue/glitch with MS whql testing that cancelled the releade of 3.3, although the 3.4s will be released soon.

Sorry I didn't post this earlier, but didn't know that people were waiting with baited breath. Although I did realize Eden was wanting to see performance enhancemen figures for the 9700s, but not like this changes that, you still have to wait.

I think that Nvidia got people into the mindset that new driver releases will unlock better performance out of your hardware, most of the time, it isnt true for other companies...I have yet to see a single Catalyst release make a noticable difference in my Radeon..the improvements have happened over time....

I could never get the newer drivers to work correctly with my AIW 8500DV. If I use anything other than the included drivers, there would be tons of issues. Funny it didn't happen on my original Radeon 8500. I think ATi has to stop comming out with these new drivers and work on new drivers that actually work with the AIW line.
