You gain deception tokens by making bluff checks opposed by sense motive
(max 10 + level). Does that mean that an accomplished liar can almost
always have his deception token pool maxed out if he has the time, by
feeding the target small, believable irrelevant lies?
"You know, I was in the army too..." (bluff vs. sense motive succeeds, +
1 token) "... have you ever been to Blackport? I had a girl there
once..." (bluff vs. sense motive succeeds, +1 token) &c. &c. And then:
"But now I'm with the King's secret service and you better let us
through that door you're guarding." (spend 5 tokens to get +10 to bluff,
to counter the believability/risk penalties).
It does makes sense, actually but it means that every important lie told
by the devious manipulator will have a +10 bonus, as long as he has had
enough time to feed the target some random bullshit beforehand. Seems a
bit powerful...
