I am impressed to be honest. Not at the early results, but the Detonator 50s. It seems they unlock a lot of potential.
Also the card design is pretty cool IMO, not something like before at all and I doubt it'll be as noisy.
But price-wise, it'll be bad news.

I checked, it mainly just tells that the Detonator 50s seem to really boost, however they were not sure about comparing it to the FX5800 which cheats to get high points.

What bothers me though is if it will be 256-bit 850MHZ, that means 27.2GB of bandwidth. To gain this much over the 9800PRO, not to mention a core clock enhancement, well, I dunno, I'll need to see more per-clock tests to see if it really has fixed its IPC problems. Though 3dMark03 does little to tell at the moment.
Hope the Det 50s do a difference to current cards as well.

Actually the card looks like a PRO card (although yes I read the title and it probably IS the NV35). I guess Nvidia is convinced the dual-slot layout and giant cooling unit is the way to go. I'm not a fan. (No pun intended)

I don't think it CAN be as loud, they know the reaction that got the first time around.

But all in all it looks like one heck of a card. It should be interesting to see once it's officially in the hands of reviewers.

Also, I wish they had showed the beakdown of the 3Dmark scores, especially now that they mean more to me.

I didn't see the early speculations. I just did the quick calculation, 1000/425 Mhz = 2.35 ns. So 2.3 ns DRAMS or better are needed to run at 425 Mhz without overclocking the memory.

I think the FX5900 Ultra is going to be d*mn expensive.

If those French benchmarks are true, than the nv3x architecture has finally grown up, some new features have been added and most nv30 problems seem to be solved:

* 27.2 gb/s raw bandwidth (for better AA/AF performance)
* twice the shader performance
* enhanced IntelliSample technology
* image quality on bar with the R3x0 as indicated in the French benchmark review
* UltraShadow acceleration for stencil shadows

If this is all true then nvidia is again back in the game. The 50.xx detonator also seem to greatly improve performance and image quality. This combined with the best compatibility for current and future games can make the nv35 one hell of a card.

Let's hope nvidia doesn't deceive again...

Does anyone know when the nv35 NDA expires?
