Sorry, but this is not news to anyone here. The FX5200 debut showed numerous vendors cards without fans. Your going to actually find more FX5200 non ultra's without fans....than with.

I was not aware of that, obviously :-D

I though all GFFXs were furnaces.

Athlon XP 1600+, MSI K7T PRO2 RU (POS), 2x256 MB CRUCIAL PC2100 CL2.5 memory, Asus V6800 DDR Delux (GF 256) video card, 6.4GB+27GB WD HD, 40GB IBM HD (all 7200RPM). My computer is an acronym

Phial, if you want to win 'Longest Post' title from eden it goes vertically, not horizontally.

I await your equally long vertical post.

you're unfortunately not the only person who didn't know that. Due to the crap some ATI users have been spreading through the net the last few months, many people think that all GF FXs indeed run hotter than the temperature measured during a nuclear reaction.

In reality, it's only the GFFX 5800 Ultra which uses the dustblaster, the 5800 non-Ultra includes a normal fan as also the 5600 serie. The 5200 even doesn't need a fan at all.

Well the 5200 rivals the MX440, they are both just really horrible cards. NOt surprising it doesnt need a fan

*shrug*

I've been called worse repeatedly by a certain troll around here. Honestly, I don't mind noob, you aren't born with knowledge, you learn it through experience and effort.
