I'm shocked - SHOCKED to find that sort of deck winning a tournament!
:p

(Sarcasm aside: congrats on the victory!)

Heya,
I'll just add my own coments to this, as I was there:

First of all: of course, great many thanks to the organisation, and
congratulations on the victory to François;

About the how/why this deck won:
IMHO, it's largely due to following facts:
(...)
2) lots of new players present. Out of the 75 players, I think only
around 25-30 were really experienced players, so the general idea of
"no way you're letting a Palla Grande take off, as after that it will
be too late" was not so widespread in the morning. It was in the evening
(testimony are François' results the day after with the same deck)

:!: Which is absolutely not true.
:!: More than half of the attending crowd were seasoned players...
:!: And even if you know how a palla grande works, if you don't have
:!: enough bleed power / intercept / untap, you will suffer a lot.
:!: Don't forget the change of targets, dodge and annoying events.
:!: We all know what to do against it, but do we have the cards in hand ?
:!: Palla Embrace is a very strong archetype.
:!: The only defense is rush (which is blocked by a 1 cap weenie)
:!: Nasty votes (which are delayed or directed) and bleed (but con boon
annihilates this)
:!: Now please stop the "it won because the players are not good" stuff...
please...

Reyda, you surprise me.
Does it say anywhere that the deck won because of bad players?
No. If you think so, read it again.
It won, IMO, because of the reasons stated above, and I never stated
"the other players are bad" as a reason it won.
Regarding their inexperience: If more than half the players in a
tournament hasn't been playing big tournaments for more than a year (if
that long at all), I honestly would say they are inexperienced,
specifically compared to a bunch of players -like in this tournament-
who've been paying for 10 years+
And yes, I honestly believe a Palla Grande deck has a bigger chance of
winning at a table with 4 non-experienced players, than with 4
battle-hardened veterans.
Compare it to someone playing a caitiff voter, with 1 guy at the table
saying "ok, no problem, it's only the first praxis.."

As to the question:
"what should we do", the answers are as simple as they are numerous:
pick any of the following:
1) play Delaying tactics
2) play standard 1 +intercept stuff
3)play DI
4)play combat
5)play off-focus cards in other decks (Muddled, Pariah,atonement..)
6)play aranthebes
7)put pressure on the Palla Grande deck, instead of cowering in awe and
amazement
8)...
