I bought a new computer from an online store here in Sweden, but they gave me the wrong CPU. I ordered a 2.8ghz 533fsb,
but got the 2.8 ghz 800fsb.
I am wondering if it will work with the MainBoard that I ordered. The MainBoard is an Intel Desktop Board D850EMV2. On the box it says for 400 and 533fsb and I also have rambus 1066mhz.
Does the CPU work with this MainBoard?
If not, what is best to return? The MainBoard or the CPU?
And if I keep the CPU, what MainBoard and Rambus works with the CPU 2.8ghz 800fsb?
I'd be thankful for any answer.
In hope of reply...
Most likely it will not work.
The system will probably post, the BIOS will report illegal CPU installed. It may ask you if you want to run the cpu at the 533MHz FSB. The CPU would run at 1.86GHz (14*200=2800 and 14*133=1862)
If you have the D850EMVR mobo (It's packed in the same box as the D850EMV2L) I would recommend getting the 3.06GHz P4 with hyper threading. It's an awsome set up with PC1066.
