Abit Siluro FX5600 DT 256MB for $188 (googlegear.com)
RADEON 9600 PRO 128MB for $183 (googlegear.com)

Which of these cards is the fastest card that cost under $200 for dx9.0 games? Does 256MB gives any advantage for the FX5600 over Radeon 9600 pro? THG doesn't have any benchmarks for that Abit card. The games I play are flight simulators.

Thanks.

agee.

the 9600pro has very fast DX9 effects rendering speed. and the 5600DT is more than likely the cheaper version of the 5600

if you both those cards beside eachother, you would see the difference

Yes the 9600P is faster, and there was a recent review I posted here that said the 5600 could NOT take advantage of the 256mb EXCEPT in 2d Applications, and that would ONLY be running dual monitors at max resolutions. Also the 5600 256 fell well short of the 9500s and 9600s. When I get home I can post this (I don't have the links at work).
Or you can check back in the threads for the one titled FX5600-256mb. It should be about 5 days back.

Thanks for the vote of confidence phial.

Here's a link to the thread here that I started regarding the review of the 5600-256mb.
I'd bump the thread but I'm not sure if it's length deserves a bump, I will leave that to someone else if they feel it is worth it (kinda conceited if I bump my own thread IMO)

here's the link

Hope that gives a little insight.
