Clean boot program?

Before when I had Win98 there was a program called Start cop that used to let you control what is started for maximum performance. They no longer make it that I know of. From what I understand, WinXP is a different beast meaning that they’re are a lot of processes that have to run for WinXP to run properly.
Would anyone know a good way to clean boot for maximum performance with XP?

For an excellent GUI replacement for msconfig, <A HREF="http://mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml" target="_new">StartUp Control Panel</A> is my preference, and it works just fine with WinXP.

To edit the Administrative Services that start with the system, there are several websites that offer good information, such as:
