white wolf just posted the spoiler for the new Alan Sovereign Card, but
i don't understad what does it does...
6 Cap: DOM AUS pre for, G3
Advanced, Camarilla: While Allan is ready, you may pay some or all of
the pool cost of equiping form any investment cards you control
MERGED During your master phase, if Alan is ready, you may move a
counter from any investment card to your pool.
Dont you always pay the cost of the investment cards? what are the
investment cards others than Short Term Investment and LTI.

Short Term Investment

What his text means is that you can pay for Equipment cards with
counters from Investment cards.

When you have advanced Allan Soverign in play, when you equip with
something, you can pay for the thing you equip with with counters of
investment cards (i.e. if you go and buy a .44 Magnum, you can pay for it
with 2 counters off a Short Term Investment instead of with 2 pool). When he
is merged, you can take counters off investment cards without using a master
phase action.

Um, I don't think the merged text means that, exactly, no. Otherwise, I'm
going to break this card with the ultimate bloat deck: Alan Sovereign, Advanced
Alan Sovereign, Anson, The Parthenon, and a BUNCH of Secret Hordes. Every
turn that I could play three Secret Hordes, I could increase my pool almost
8-fold.
I think the merged text means you can move ONE extra counter from an
investment card every master phase - making them a lot more usable for
bloat.

That ability is usable only once each turn, it specifies "A COUNTER".
My question was regarding the other ability, i was confused with that,
i thought that it granted him the ability to pay for an investment card
i've played... duh! silly me.

Well, yes. It likely falls under the "During X, Do Y" template that defaults
to once per X. Which I was assuming in my description.

That merged ability... It doesn't say "investment card *you control*".
So, does merged Alan allow you yo steal counters from your opponents'
investment cards?

Well, yes, but the important part being discussed is the the "Durning X, Do
Y" template that makes it so you can only do Y once each X by default.

Uh, yeah. 'Cause this will now suddenly 'cause you to have to remove the 10

Alastor:
Political card - Worth 1 vote. Called by any justicar or Inner Circle member
at +1 stealth. Choose a ready Camarilla vampire. If this referendum is
successful, search your library for an equipment card and place this card
and the equipment on the chosen vampire. Pay half the cost (round down) of
the equipment. This vampire may enter combat with any vampire controlled by
another Methuselah as a +1 stealth (D) action. This vampire cannot commit
diablerie. A vampire may have only one Alastor.
Is this statement correct?: Alan's new card text cheese does not apply for
the Alastor political action, because the equipment is 'placed', not
'equipped'.
Damn. 1 pool Assult Rifles would have been cool. (1 pool for a short-term
investment, and take 2 of the 3 counters on the investment to pay for the
Alastor reduced cost Assult Rifle). 2 pool Flamethrowers will still rock

By the way, does the ability work with Slave Auction?

Slave Auction is not an Investment. Therefore, Alan Sovereign (either
incarnation) has no effect.

Wonder if it's worth working him into an Assault Rifle deck? AUS/dom makes
him a one-minion bounce/Counter module, and he's relatively sturdy with FOR.
Protracted Investment lets you get an AR for 2 pool [1 if merged, I guess?],
plus that deck type usually plays master-light anyway, so you often have
MPAs available for pulling counters back to pool.

Suppose Investments were sorta like Heartblood of the Clan with this
text:
"Any vampire you control may take an action to move one counter from
this investment to your pool."
No stealth so weenies aren't super powerful here, but it allows people
to keep their precious master slots for other purposes if they want.
Not nearly as good as Blood Doll/hunting, but multiple vampires can use
the same investment.
