Report - 10/9 Constructed Tournament in Gothenburg

Report:

13 players gathered on the 10th of September to battle out in the
monthly vtes tournament here in Gothenburg. Due to lack of creativity I
was playing an old TW deck of mine. A g2-4 dom/for/pot deck. And this
time it all went really bad for it. Ending up on an amazing 13th place.


Round 1.
I was hunting Daniel's Mata Hari ally madness deck who in turn was
hunting Jocke's deck (which I can't remember what it did) that was
hunting Henrik's Alastor deck. Daniel put heavy pressure on Jocke and
an early unmasking event made it impossible for me to any serious
damage with surgical striking from Mata's red list trait and my own
haven uncovered. War Ghoul's with +1 intercept is never a great thing
to run into. The only thing keeping Daniel from ousting Jocke was the
pure threat of my dominate bleeds. So everything seemed ok 'til
Henrik started to move forwards. Killing my vampires with assault
rifles and lots of prevent. With my vampires out of the way Daniel
easily ousted Jocke and Henrik ousted me. The resulting duel was won by
Henrik after a while.

Round 2.
Round 2 was a very frustrating race that was all about me not having
luck on my side. I hunted Roger's proxy kiss Giovanni deck, who was
hunting Eric C's Tariq force of will strangeness deck, who was
hunting Henrik and his alastors, who was hunting Magnus Giovanni bleed
deck. The round started very badly for me. Taking 13 pool damage due to
bleeds from Magnus before I could do anything about him. This also
forced me to rush him and send all his vampires to torpor. In the mean
time Roger went forwards and made a mess of Eric. I was finally able to
go forwards and got Roger down to a few pool when he ousted Eric. The
rest of the game was a frustrating race with me getting Roger down to 1
or 2 pool before he was able to oust again. When only me and roger
remained he drew his decks combat package and what was left of me is
not worth mentioning here.

Round 3.
A very clean round. I was hunting Erik T's neo-CtGB deck, who was
hunting Roger's proxy kissed deck, who was hunting Sten's !Tremere
burst of sunlight deck. Roger was the first one to get ousted. I put
heavy pressure on Erik and got him down to a few pool. At this stage
Erik decided that reckless bleeding was a good thing. I got ousted due
to heavy bleeds bounced from and made by Sten and Erik won the
following duel.

I didn't watch the finals so I can only give a short recollection on
what happened in it. Daniel got a Renegade Garou into play quite early.
He also got unmasking and some other allies into play which halted
Henrik's attempts at becoming alastor. The Garou was quickly taken
over by Erik due to an entrancement. A Garou facing the soft corpse of
Mata Hari and some other non-combat allies made a bloody mess out of
Daniel. Somewhere around here Sten that was put under pressure from
Roger offered Erik a VP deal with Erik taking 3 and the game win and
Sten taking 2 and the second place. Things went quite smooth for the
beast and his bitch from here on and Erik ousted Henrik and Roger
before he allowed Sten to take his promised 2 victory points. Erik's
