Maybe this belongs in the cooling section, if so Im sure it will be moved there(sorry Fredi), but Im more interested in peoples designs for cooling their system. My main complaint is that both of my cases have a mount for a fan at the bottom, front of the case, but that area is always blocked off (meaning the actual face plate doesnt have holes for the air to blow out of, or suck in from. I just got a 70 case with front USB, speaker, and headphone panels, and I'd prefer not to hack the thing apart to get better cooling, but what should I do? I will be running a 850 Tbird @approx 1-1.1Ghz, a ATI Radeon LE 148mhz@190, and 2 45GB 7200 RPM hard drives.... I have a fan on the powersupply, and an intake fan on the back, but what other cooling should I Add? (I also have a global WIN FOP32 HSF on the chip...) I thought putting a BIG fan on the top of the case to suck hot air out would be a good idea, but thats hacking apart the case again.....

PS I have a few extra case fans, but most of them are set up to use power from the power supply, my power supply only has two of those types of cords... one for the floppy A drive, and one for another fan.... How do I hooke up another 2 fans?

Side note-Im not worried about noise.. loud is cool

You can get y's to extend the number of fans you can use in your system, and they also have converters to go from 3 pin to 4 pin, so your safe there.... another idea is putting in some sorta exhaust in one of your extra 5 1/4 drives or in the pci slot below the video card.... or you could buy a kit and put some heatsinks and fans on the vid card...

Austek Vapochill cases are the best dude, they run your cpu at -40deg, no overheating there

You can get a fan that fits in a 5 1/4 slot!
There´s some on sale here in Portugal called Hermmanator!
If you´re in the USA i think you won´t have a problem finding it!

I know, thanks dude.. I saw some online. My only question is how much will it benefit you? If I have my power supply exhausting, a fan on my chip, an intake at the bottom front of my case, and an outtake at the back top, how much is a slot fan going to do?

Most cases that do not have hole on the front have a big (about 2x10cm) hole on the BOTTOM (underside, faces the desk) of the face that looks like a handle. It's not a handle-it draws air from underneath the computer through the space created by the feet! If your case lacks one, make it-nobody sees the underside of the face anyway.
As for the power connectors, use Y-adapters.

It's not that difficult wuss. For additional fan holes, put one over the CPU and one over the Video Card. Then an exhaust fan in the top as far back as possible because heat rises.

Well, if it doesn´t do anything else , it will keep your
7200 rpm hard-drive(s) cool!

Im thinking of doing a YS-Tech 120mm fan in the front for intake, the same fan on the top of the case for outtake, and an 80mm on the side of the case blowing in, with an 80mm outtake on the back... sound right?

131.5CFM + 50cfm = 181.5 IN 181.5 Out ;) each of the 120's are 131.5CFM

Yes , it sounds!

But you should chain your case to the ground in order it won´t lift off!
