Need help on Rad9700pro with 8inxp,driver problem

I have a Gigabyte 8inxp with a rad pro 9700 once in a while i got this nasty error in 2d apps: "thread stuck in device driver please save your work and reboot" my screen changes to a very low resolution with few colours so my ati driver gets kicked out of the system.Not rebooting and trying to change the settings back to 1280*1024*32 will result in a black msdos screen with a freezed white cursor, programms keep on running such as cubase sl..
Changed the videocard brand from FIC to Sapphire,but the same problem persists...Tried different ati drivers (old ones etc etc)AAAAH HELP me

ive had lots of problems too.
Sometimes the only solution is a complete reinstall, followed by the LATEST drivers for everything.

You also may want to try out the Omega catylist drivers.
