Hi ya,
I'm having trouble with outlook express 6, when I close it down it comes up with a message "the instruction at "0x77f5210b" referenced memory at "0x007f403". the memory could not be written.

im running windows xp home and have all the updates installed... weird thing is it doesn't do it all the time.

I been getting a few errors myself lately. I think it might have something to do with my install of windows or the SP1. Reinstalling the windows should fix it, haha, just kidding. Out side of that does everything run as normal, if so you might just want to go about your business? Outside of that it might be tough to figure out. Maybe someone else has an ideal.

yep, everything else is running great.
I did get quite alot of lockups while running games and on the net which I thought had something to with fastwrite option turned on (supposed to be unstable on asus p4g8x mboard) but all my problems went away after I installed all the latest windows updates except the outlook express error

Yap fastwrite does make for unstable, not just your mobo. If you install and uninstalled the updates, you might consider yourself lucky that’s the only error you’re getting, hehe.

I red you wrong, you were having these problems before updating. Usually people complain after making the updates.. That is weird the updates took away your lockups. You must have installed other updates, instead of just the security ones, but I still wouldn’t think that would stop the lockups. Unless there were some drivers in the updates as well, which wouldn’t be too good to get from there.

I should mention that I've seen errors like this before occur intermittantly on systems with SP1 installed as an Express Installation through Windows Update, although the GPF usually occurs when running or closing the browser. Systems upgraded with the full SP1a Network installation don't appear to have the same number of related errors.

However, on my own systems, just to be safe, I've installed Windows XP sans the service pack, and only applied the necessary hotfixes. As an end result, the computers run very well, with no unusual memory errors.
