SFF parts are very much in a small minority of all computer parts, so plan to
pay a premium wherever you go. Dell, Compaq, and HP seem to be the name-brands
offering SFF chassis with a microATX P4 motherboard (or a variant of microATX).
The demand for SFF upgrade parts is very low, and the supply is also.

Notebook form factor DVD players (or DVD R/W!) as upgrades are in similar short
supply. If one does not want to pay Dell's prices, the alternative is to buy a
more generic notebook drive (if such an animal exists!) and live with the
slightly different front bezel.

SFF computers are definitely not designed with upgrades in mind, except for the
trivial ones such as adding memory or replacing a hard drive with a larger one.

But SFF computers are really convenient where space is at a premium. As always,
there are tradeoffs... Ben Myers
