Im looking to buy a Graphics card for under 200 to go with my a7n8x dlx and 2500. I want to get a Geforce 4 instead of a an ATI (so dont be trying to convince me to get one please..cuz it would probably work, haha) since i here there are compability problems with neforce 2 chipsets and some of the Radeon's, and wouldnt it work better if its an Nvidia chipset with a Nvidie GPU?. I'm looking at an Albatron Geforce 4 TI4680P at newegg. If not this, any other card you think is better?

I dont know of any issues, I have an ATi 9700np running just fine on my A7N8X dlx 2700+
Upgraded from a ti4200 64mb

But you dont want to hear about ATi, so I say get some ti4600/4200
PNY and MSI make pretty cool ti4200s 128mb
*scream* Gah dude, why not a 9500pro?! :)

Go for an ATI card, my friend also has a 9700 np running on an Epox 8RDA+ with no issues whatsoever. I think the majority of problems are caused by ppl who are in such a hurry to upgrade to an nforce2, athlon and high end radeon that they forget they only have a 150watt PSU.

I would say ATI's card because GF4 Ti series are kinda a little old..and doesn't have DX9 supports, if you are looking a upgrade at this time, it's either ATI Radeon9500 Pro and above, or GeForce FX 5600 Ultra and above

Thanx for the help. I think ill get a Sapphire ATI 9500 ($149). I dont see any 9500 pros. at newegg. just 9000, 9700 and 9800pro. is there somewhere where i can get a 9500pro. If so where at, how much, and whats the advantage over a 9500 np.

I don't think that ATI9500np is a great choice, due to its reduced pipelines and lower clock speed, the performance is significantly decreased, can you find Radeon9600Pro? it should be cheaper and not bad too

9600pro is a little more $$ than the 9500 but it is also a little faster card, and in theory overclocks well. If you can spare the extra change, still under $200, 9600pro is the right move.

Actually i did find a 9600pro for $178 but hadnt got around to posting anything yet. So since you guys changed my mind about a GF4, is this a good choice to go with. And what kind of frame rates would i be looking at with this on a a7n8x dlx, 2500+, and 2x256 corsair xms pc2700 ram on a game like GTA3? And is a 300PS good enough to power all this. i bought a 23 dollar case that came with it and im kinda worried that it being so cheap, it wont be good. but it was either that or stick with the 145PS i have right now. I got a Dynapower USA case. (first one)

If you havent already bought the 9600pro take a look at www.essencompu.com. They have really great service and free shipping on alot of their products. I found the same card for $185 with free shipping. Nice system by the way. And I think the 300watt power supply would do just fine as long as you dont have too many, pci cards, hard drives and optical drives attached.

Thanx for the suggestion but ive bought some stuff from newegg before (my z680's(which i have now, good speakers and ppl r too nit picky to be complaining about the hiss, i have them on right now actually and barely here it and it's not bothering me at all) and that mobo, cpu, and ram(which comes tomorrow)), and they ship quick and its free for shipping the card. and only 11 something if i cant wait and have to get 2 day  . Ill just have a 40gig and maybe my old 17gig in my computer, and my 52x24x52 burner and im gonna get a 16x dvd drive soon. am i still ok?

I disagree with all these guys. You want GeForce- go with a Ti4200- Leadtek. Not only does it look awesome- great brand. Plus only barely breaks $100- (spend the rest on RAM). Then save up for the 5900. Will save you money now- and problems in the future with trying to remove all the ATI drivers.

Thats it commguy, tell him he needs to buy old Nvidia technology, he doesnt need to play his games using AA or AF, he'll be perfectly happy. Who needs Doom3 or Halflife2 anyways!

Ya, dont listen to this guy, hes a FARGOT!
Definately get the 9600 pro, then save up for a NEW CASE AND POWER SUPPLY! 23 dollar POS.

Also if you want to switch to an nVidia card later, you will have absolutely ZERO problems removing the ATI drivers and installing ur new card.
Its the nVidia drivers that can sometimes be tricky to remove, but even that is rare.

Long live ATI.
