I'm planning on purchasing a Gf 4 Ti4200 128mb card but I couldn't find any different manufactuer comparison on the site.

Just wondering if there are any ones I should stay away from.

As opposed to telling you which manufacturers to stay away from I think it's easier to suggest which brands to look for.

I personally have a GF4 Ti4200 64mb from Leadtek which I've had now for over a year and it performs wonderfully. I still really can't justify an upgrade when this card still performs as well as it does.

Look for Leadtek, MSI, Asus, Gainward, and Chaintech. These are all solid choices. I've done enough research on them to know they stand up pretty well.

To answer your question though I would suggest staying away from Visiontek, PNY, or any generic.

Good luck.

My 64MB Abit siluro Ti4200 also great. No problem so far since july last year. The first day already clocking it at 290/590 until now. Runs fine without artifacts at all.

I have the same 64MB Abit Siluro and it performs flawlessly. Incidentally, the 64MB version of the Ti4200 outperforms the 128MB version due to higher clocked/better quality memory (unless you're talking about the newer AGP 8x version which has 128MB and is better than either one of the others).

I'm just a big, geeky nerd.

Yeah I planned on getting the 128mb 8x agp.

A question though. I know the 4x agp 128mb cards have a clock of 444mhz. The 8x has the normal 512mhz but is that only when running it at 8x agp? Or will it always be at that speed even if at 4x agp?

512Mhz always.
