There is a great deal on just now where I can get a laptop with a 64Mb GeForceFX go 5300 fairly cheaply. Trouble is, I can't find benchmark information on that specific card anywhere on the internet. It isn't even listed on nVidia's site; does anyone know how the 5300 performs compared with the 5200, 5600 and ATi equivalent models?

Other hardware forums only discuss it lightly, I've heard the go 5300 is a clock-speed reduced version of the go 5600, does this happen to be the case?

I hate to advertise, but a quick link to the thing is as follows:

Thanks.

Now don't quote me on any of this, because I could be wrong. But you can understand my logic.

The FX 5300 Go will not perform as well as a FX 5200 or even compare to FX 5600. I would guess that it is a "mobilized" FX 5200. This means that its performance would probably not be quite as good as say... A Mobility Radeon 9200, much less the M10 or the GeForce 4 Go 4200.

In My Opinion, this is a cheap card trying to look good, by relying on its bigger brothers performance figures. I wouldn't go for the 5300 Go if I wanted good graphics performance. I might even go as far as to say, that I think I would rather go for an Integrated solution.

dell offers systems with the mobile 5200 so I'd imagine it's either a higher clocked mobile 5200 or just a marketing scheme to get you to buy it. The 5200 is like the mx of the fx's You may be better off with intel extreme integrated graphics LOL but I suppose it would be faster just because it has it's own ram and doesn't have to borrow from the system.
