hello all, i just finnished building my 1st pc and would like to network that with my pre-fab gateway. i'm using 2 nics, one for each and a cat5 networking cable. the problem is that each of the comps say "network cable unplugged". can ne1 shed some light on this for me?

Double check your connections, and re-try. Perhaps one of the wires in your RJ-45 plugs is loose or something.

Did you wire it to be a crossover? If so, double check that the wire order is correct.

if you arnt using a hub, you need a crossover cable or it wont work.


If they squeeze olives to get olive oil, how do they get baby oil?

try a different cable and/or try a known good connection to your set up.

Probably just not using a crossover cable.
