I really want portability. Battery performance is as such:
Folio was reviewed to have around 8 hours of battery life (9.5 claimed max)
Series 9 reviewed to have roughly 4 hours of battery life (7 claimed max)
I can't choose between the two because the Samsung is so sexy and the screen is 2x as bright and vivid... but am I willing to sacrifice battery life for aesthetics?
I arrived at this thread because I'm stuck deciding between the same machines, plus one: the Samsung Series 7.
I've started a new job where I need to provide my own machine, which I'll need to carry home from the office every day. So portability will be key...
The Samsung Series 7 gets added to the list for a few reason:
still only about 1" thick, 5lbs though
1600x900 res display, instead of 1366x768
Slot loading CD/DVD, in case you ever need it...
So, I should remind you that the redesigned Series 9 is SUPPOSED to come out at the end of February. This one will be thinner/lighter, longer battery (rated 10 hrs for the 15" model [there will be a 13 and 15]), and increased resolution, now up to 1600x900.
However, there's a matter of the price...
Samsung Series 9 (2012 model) will start at $1400.
HP Folio can be had for right under $900.
