ok guys heres the problem. I started my computer ....It does a scandisk prolly becoz someone didnt shut it down properly. After the scandisk, the HDD light just blinks for some time and the computer restarts, so i use the LAST KNOW GOOD CONFIG option...Same thing, Restarts. I use the safe mode so i can do a system restore...It goes on to load agp440.sys HDD reads for some time and then restart. I'm going crazy right now and am using the Backup WINME. So any ideas on what i can do??? Thanx for the help

what if you tried to boot from the cd (you may need to change your bios settings to allow this) and then do a system retore from there or even a complete reinstall
I dont have a boot disk/cd for windows xp. Only for Me.

use the winxp instalation disk.
first go into youor bios (hold down the "del" key while pc is booting to access your bios settings, this key can be different on differing mobo's it may also be the "F2' key your mobo manual should be able to tell you this if it doesnt have this info on the boot screen)WARNING: IF YOU DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT YOUR BIOS SETTINGS DONT CHANGE ANYTHING UNLESS YOU ARE FAIRLY SURE YOU KNOW WHAT IT WILL DO!
Under the boot tab you will see that your pc looks at you floppy first then usally the HDD simply disable these and enable boot from cdrom. insert the winxp instalation disk. save changes and follow the prompts. If this does work Ctrl-Alt-Del and enter settings again and return the setings to original state.
Yea i know my way around the bios but i didnt know that the installation disk was bootable. Thanx i'll try it soon.
