Hello, i'm running windows xp on:
p3 800 133fsb
Abit SE6
Geforce 2 GTS 32MB
256mb ram
dvd drive
2 hd's 40gb + 100gb

My question is, Yesterday i tried to use my computer after i had endabled power management features such as, turn off hard disks, system hybernate, and so on, but my computer kept stalling at the login screen of windows. now i tried to use it and it seems to work fine.

It has been getting progressively slower over the last year, and i know i'm going to have to replace alot of the parts soon, but as to what caused this problem, i'd like to know what would be the best way to hunt down the problem, i ran scan disk on the hd that hosts windows, and it didn't give errors, but i thought it ran too fast, 20 secs.

What should i do?

You might want to do some clean up first. Check your temporary file in the temp folder (in a hidden folder name local settings in your profile). Delete all the temporary files in the temp folder. Also, delete all the cached files in another hidden folder in windows directory name dll cache.
