I am hoping someone can help. I recently have had problems with my computer
and a possible virus. I had let my Norton anti virus software expire, and
intended on using the virus protection provided by Charter.(My internet
provider). During the approx 3 days I was without protection, I believe
something happened to m,y computor. I was unable to delete messages at my
yahoo email page, I was unable to access System Restore(I got a blank page)
and I was unable to access several web pages. When running Spybot, I was
unable to delete something called HUNTBAR and a continual box in my taskbar
popped up saying SOLID PEER.
I downloded the virus protection from Charter and got no relief. As a
m,atter of fact I could'nt access Charters virus protection through Windows
Explorer. I had to use Mozilla to get there.
To make a long story short, I finally deleted the Charter protection and
purchased Norton Internet Security. In order to load it, I had to delete
Service Pack 2. All is now good. I am able to access those sites I could'nt
before, and I am able to get to System Restore, although ZI was unable to
find a restore point earlier than the day I installed Norton Internet
Security. My question: When I attempt to download Service Pack 2, I get a
message. It says ACCESS DENIED as it is about 3/4 of the way through. Any
suggestions?
