i decided to get a ATI 9800 128mb Non-PRO..
But where does it fit into the benchmark picture?

is it between Radeon9800 PRO and Radeon 9700PRO ?
or
below the 9700 PRO?

From Toms' latest graphic test, i can see that the 9700 Non-PRO is about 7-13% off on the 9700PRO.

but what about the 9800 Non-PRO??

Someone please answer me....Thx
i am lost.
and yes it does exist. a non-PRO of 9800.

Could you please provide a link to where you are buying a 9800 "non-Pro"?

As far as I know the only ATi Radeon 9800nonpros being sold were through Dell with the Dimension XPS gaming machine. They may have since DELETED it.

Good question been trying to find that same answer myself, I compared the specs of the two cards on the boxes themselves at Best Buy, they were identical. I thought maybe they had differences as far as capture capability, or additional software, theres got to be some kind of difference for the $100.00 price difference. The card appears to have the same outputs as the Pro, and in my display settings adapter tab, its listed as an ATI 9800 Pro, I bought one myself by the way, it scared me when I got home and saw on the box that Win98SE was not listed as being OP/SYS supported, because I'm dual booting between Win98SE and WinXP Pro, however even though not listed on the box, the installation disk did have drivers for Win98SE, I keep 98SE to run older games I'm not ready to part with like Aliens Versus Predator and Serious Sam the Second Encounter, two of my favorite games I love to go back to over and over. Maybe someone will come along that solidly knows the difference between the ATI 9800 and ATI 9800 Pro, and enlighten us.

ATI's website isn't very useful, but here's what they have to say about it:
<A HREF="http://mirror.ati.com/products/pc/radeon9800pro/compare.html" target="_new">http://mirror.ati.com/products/pc/radeon9800pro/compare.html</A>

I think it's just a clockspeed difference. <A HREF="http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=game-gen&message.id=1491" target="_new">This</A> post claims that it's 324/290 instead of 380/350. As for where to find them, newegg and several other places seem to have them.

In your Motherboards AGP slot. Preferably 8x.
