Disabling Email at Logon Screen (XP)

start>run and type

regedit

navigate to the following key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\[Youremailaddress],
double-click on MessageCount in the right hand pane and change the value to
0. To re-enable this change the value to 1.
