No video media playing on TV using Radeon 9700

Hi folks...

I've got a ATI Radeon 9700 card and am using it on my widescreen TV as I want to watch movies and the like using it. However for some reason whenever I play video files using windows media player I don't get any video on the TV - even although it's playing fine on my monitor that's mirroring it. Any ideas how to get this fixed?

Are you using old drivers? This used to happen to me a long time ago with older cats.

Another thing to do is to force both displays to use the same RAMDAC. In the Advanced settins of the video driver, make sure both displays have the single button clicked... I don't know how to better explain that, they're not really labelled properly at all.

But if memory serves they are blue buttons with either one white monitor or two little white monitors. Just make sure they're both set to one.

Unfortunately, this means you have to run both your TV and monitor at the same resolution and refresh rate...

maybe u should set ur tv as an extended desktop instead of mirroring ur computer display

That would probably not help because it would require using the second ramdac.
