hi everybody, i just switched from nvidia to ati, i got a radeon 9700 pro.

Heres the problem:

I can't seem to lock the refresh rate on the ati video card, I know my monitor can support 100 hertz vsync, but its stuck at 60 fps.

any program out there to lock ati refresh rate? I hate tearing :(

Try RefreshFix,
http://www.radeon2.ru/refreshfix_eng.html

Unfortunately I can't quite set my monitor refresh rate to the maximum for some resolutions, but it is close (eg. 75 instead of 77). It's not that big of a deal, just annoying.

Under the display tab in your drivers, click the monitor your using, and it allows you to set the refresh for your games. You dont need that refreshrate fix program.

Does it have the correct monitor listed? It sounds like Windows is loading the "Default monitor" driver instead of the one for your specific monitor.

Also the Cat 3.5 did add to the refrsh list for 16x12 by adding the 100hz option whihc had been missing for some.
Just in case you may want to try the new drivers. But try all the other suggestions first, espcially the one above about the default Windows monitor driver. Be sure your drivers for your monitor are loaded.
