HI - I am capturing from a PAL camera - WMM recognizes that it is PAL and
captures fine - but the quality is terrible - hard to describe, but when play
back on screen, the footage is very halty - not smooth. I burned to DVD,
and watched footage on TV - and same problem - with jumps - not smooth.

Can anyone shed any light or help me with this problem?

thanks
elizabeth

That's because PAL and NTSC use different frames per second, 20/30 I think.
Try Googling the subject. A good video card should iron out the problems
though.

You need a lot of system horsepower to manipulate video. A very fast
processor is a must as is abundant system memory (RAM), a fast hard drive,
and a very fast video card with at least 128 MB of memory on the card. As
for conversion of video formats, you need good software to do that. Nero
Ultra 6.0 may have the features you need, I'm not sure. Your video card may
have bundled software that can do this, check your documentation.
