2 days ago, I turned on the system and I had a problem with norton antivirus,
I have Antivirus 2003 installed but I have all the updated virus definitions
up to the present time. It gave me a message telling me Windows XP 5.12600
Service Pack 2 common client core 1.0.2 Live update was not able to complete
this update (it tells me to contact technical support and send the
information to Norton because it gives me a file name) I tried to contact
Norton but their site was down at the time. Since then I have been on their
site, and they tell me they will not answer any questions or give technical
support for Antivirus 2003----My next step was a system restore for 2 days
previous. In doing this I now cannot turn off my computer using the start
button. My subscription is up in June of this year. But I do not know
whether to get a new Norton Internet Security and delete this one or not,
because I do not know if this will solve my problem. At the time I also had
on my computer but I thought these were perhaps conflicting with each other,
ADAWARE, Beta Version from Microsoft (the spyware one), and Webroot
Spysweeper. I had been told not to bother with a firewall because I was not
connected to the internet 24/7 but after all this occured I finally turned on
the Microsoft Firewall. I usually do maintence on my pc periodically, by
deleting cookies, doing defrag, and every night before turning off the pc I
do a disk clean. Because of having to turn off the pc every night using the
power button, when I turn on the system the next day it automatically comes
on with the check disk, and the check disk truncates 1 or 2 files, what does
this mean? One thing that I have not done and I procrastinate on is doing a
back up. Please I need help, I have windows xp home edition, ie 6.0, i have
an old version of roxio, my computer is intel Pentium 4 2.4 ghz 504 mb ram
and I have unlimited access and also high speed.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give to me.
