ATI Driver Conflicts?

My ATI cards, using the recent 7-84 to 7-90 drivers are crashing very often. at least twice a day now, BUT only when I play games are use DirectX/OpenGL intensively.

None of my other colleagues are having this problem to this extent, and I figure my dual radeon card configuration may be at fault.

Anyone know what's going on? Ati seemed to be on a pretty good roll with their drivers, but now it seems the higher the version number the more that is inflicted on you.

For me I figured there might be ATI driver conflicts with the two cards in my pc simultaneously, but my other friends are experiencing similar system halts and faliures. No BSOD's, just straight lock ups or system reboots.

If there's an ATI programmer reading this, I salute you for trying, but wtf is going on lol.

Peace

I too am having crashes/lockups, but always a BSOD when I'm playing 3D games (like you mentioned). The problem is the the BSOD freezes before the error message can be displayed, so all I see is literally a blue screen and can't figure out which driver caused the problem.

Anyone else out there having these problems?

I'm using the latest drivers (6.14.10.6360) on a single Radeon 9500 Pro. Here are the rest of my specs:

Windows XP SP1
Asus P4P800 Deluxe (Bios 1008.004) - no overclocking or aggressive settings
P4 2.6 GHz (800 MHz FSB)
2x256 DDR 400 RAM

Thanks all,

I'm using the newest catalyst version 7-90:

wxp-w2k-radeon-7-90-030605m-009437c-efg

and it's what I use for both the old AGP AiW Radeon and the new PCI Radeon 7500 (I didn't have to install any new drivers).

The older drivers are more stable (with a few endurable bugs) the reason I don't use them is because I need the AGP bus on atleast one of my cards for some graphics intensive programs (I will be replacing the AGP AiW with something new later) and I prefer to keep my multiple monitor setup.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
