Does it matter if on Windows XP SP2 on an APIC system for your video
card (9600XT in my case) to share an IRQ with the USB Universal Host
controller and the IEEE 1394 Host controller?

My 9600XT is on IRQ 16 and so are two USB Host controllers and an
IEEE1394 controller.

My Audigy is on IRQ 19 also shared with another USB Host controller.

Could this cause any problems? I am noticing in Far Cry and Doom 3
(demo) that the system pauses/jerks (without loosing sound though - like
its dropping frames), when new sounds start or doors open etc.

You could try allocating a IRQ for video in the bios, I think that will
ensure there is no sharing with the video card. Try it anyway see what
happens.
