I know that you should never put loads of importance on 3D Mark 2001SE benchmarks when it is game performance that counts but I have seen many people post their scores over the months and wondered whether mine was a bit too low based on my setup. After all you can still use 3D Mark as a guide to see if your system is heading in the right direction configuration wise after you have set it up.
My Rig:
AXP 2500+ @ 2GHz
Asus A7V333 rev 2.0
2 x Corsair XMS 256MB PC2700 @ 2-2-2-5
PNY Geforce 4 Ti4600
Audigy 2
2 x Barracuda 60GB (RAID 0)
Windows XP Pro & DirectX 9
3D Mark 2001SE default settings (1024x768 60Hz)
I have tweaked settings in bios and tried different detonator versions and my highest score is 12,600.
I never go to the extremes of shutting down all task bar apps and turning off all bits and bobs in Windows but I do make sure that I run the bench mark with no other programs loaded and repeat 3 times and take average after normal restart each time.
Any thoughts - what are your scores on comparable system?
Thanks people.

Thanks people. I am summarily reassured by your responses. You always question your PC when you see some guy posting 14k - 15k scores with similar specs but it looks like my machine is around the right area.
Now I just need to improve my 1603 3D Mark 2003 score Cheers guys.

No Prob. My 3Dmark 2003 scores are crap also. No DX 9 vid card yet. I'm waiting for a few more months until Doom 3 is out before I'm buying a new vid card. That's when my 3Dmark 03 will improve, not before.
Honey, what's that smell? Don't bother me now I'm working on my computer! OOPS!
