Nortton AntiVirus LiveUpdate Error

When installing Norton Antivirus it says there is an error in installing it. The installer leads me to a website a setup made just for the installion for LiveUpdate. When I try to install this program, it says I need to enable Long Pathnames. I run Win2kpro and Norton Antivirus 2003. I'd like to know how to enable long pathnames.
