I want to thank everybody that took the time to answer my post and share thier opinions.
I purchased a Linksys 4 port router and am very happy with it after getting over a snag in the installation.
I was able to open up a web connection with both computers at the same time but had a problem with printer and file sharing. It really was not a problem but operator error. Although I had file and printer sharing enabled in my network settings, I did not realize that you had to enable each individual drive through "MY Computer/properties". I could not find it in the troubleshooting documentation for the router or Windows troubleshooting. After talking to a friend that had gone through the same routine, most everthing seems to be OK now.
I do have one problem that is still bugging me. When I try to install my HP932C printer to the kids/wife puter as a network printer it chokes. I get the message "The file 'hpf930a0.dat' on Network printer driver files cannot be found". It happens when I give it the OK to print a test page. I thought it may be a USB problem {don't trust USB} and switched over to the parallel port and installed the latest drivers. Still a no-go. Same message. Anybody have any ideas. I need help really bad, told my better half that this would allow her to use the faster printer if she would allow me to spend the cash for the router. DOH!
