just a quick question.
will there be a marginal difference if i upgrade my CPU to a 2400+?? say more than 10fps+ more in my games?? i have sold my old 1600+ already, so i'll be upgrading to 2400+ defitnitly. my system specs are below

MSI K7T 266Pro2-RU
512mb DDR-266
Radeon 8500
SB Live 5.1 DE
Maxtor 40G
and all the rest

There will be a difference, but it will probably be too slight to notice, unless you have an eagle eye.

In games where you were chugging along you will probably notice the biggest difference.

Should be quite noticable. My upgrade from a 1.2 Ghz Thunderbird to an AthlonXP 2000+ (really only 1.66 Ghz) was very, very noticable.

Heya 10GHZ;

If it were me i would say the hell with it and upgrade my computer core in your situation, thats where your going to get the most gain.

Move up to the XP2700 - $131, and a NForce 400 ultra chipset motherboard - $125, you can also buy some samsung pc2700 pretty damn cheap - 2x256 $70, thats only a total cost of $326 US.

Or you can go Intel and spend a tad bit more, around $360 total because of the extra cost involved in buying the p4b 2.4Ghz, the other prices remain the same as you can get an Abit Is7 for $125.

Either way you will be very happy with your new core ;)
