If I use a goblin sharpshooter to kill a 1/1 creature token, does the token go
to the graveyard before ceasing to exist, thus untapping my sharpshooter?

Sure does. There is no rule saying tokens can't go to the graveyard
(or your hand, or removed-from-game, or wherever). There *is* a rule
that says when a token is in any zone other than in-play, it immediately
ceases to exist. So the token goes to the graveyard, disappears, and
then the triggered effect untapping the sharpshooter goes on the stack.

"The ugly one, sir."

Yes. The state-based effect involved notes that tokens can't exist outside of
play, so makes them cease to exist if found in any other zone. So the token
will be, momentarily, in your graveyard, and will -go- there just fine.

(You can't do anything at all with it while it's there, but it -does- go there
and sit there very briefly before state-based effects get checked for.)
