Does the display driver offer a wide range of resolutions, such as
1280 x nnn, 1024 x nnn?

If so, what are the opinions on text and image quality at other than
the WUXGA resolution?

I don't have that particular system (have an Inspiron 8200), but any LCD
display will have reduced clarity at any resolution other than its
native resolution.

If you want the effect of a reduced resolution without changing the
resolution, try changing the DPI settings.
