which GeForce4 graphics card to buy ?

Hi everybody, I'm a new member here.

I would like your opinion and advice on which GeForce4 graphics card to buy ? There is a huge choice out there, a lot of different brands and a lot of different versions. So, which one would you suggest and why ?

Go check out the Asus Line up of GF4 cards, they have a wide sellection, High performers, midrange performers, to suit your needs, but reguardless of what model you buy its going to be quality because thats just how Asus is, their moto is "Quality will never be compramised" I have always been happy with their products.

Don't buy a GeForce 4, it's fast but it will be outdated the day you buy it. The next generation of games will all be DirectX 9 and OpenGL 2.0 so your card is worthless. Go for a GeForce FX or Radeon 9500+ instead.

One thing you're forgetting is that maybe he doesn't have the money to go with a newer card like that, wihtout settling for the craptacular 5200. Anyway, getting back to the original question, it really depends on how much money you want to spend. A GF4 MX420 will cost about $45, whereas a ti4600 costs about $160. The $100 Ti4200 is a good deal. If you were planning on spending $160 for that Ti4600, then it WOULD be a good choice to step up to a DX9 card like the ATi 9600 Pro, which can be had for as little as $145. The 9600 Pro will offer similar/slightly better performance than the Ti4600 and offers DX9 capability.

If you're looking for performance on-the-cheap, go for the cheapest Ti4200 you can find, and then overclock the bejeesus out of it.
