New Legends Rule -- What are the big effects?

What are the major changes that the new Legend Rule (and Wall rule)
will have on specific card or deck strategies? How will they word
certain cards?

For instance, Arena of the Ancients currently says "Legends don't
untap during their controllers' untap steps." Do you think they'll
reword this as "Legendary Creatures don't untap during their
controllers' untap steps," or might they go so far as to make it
"Legendary permanents don't untap during their controllers' untap
steps?"

My brother used to have a Belbe's Portal deck wherein he inevitably
chose Legend as a Creature Type. That is broken now, I guess.

Whenever a card makes wall tokens, like the Basalt Golem, are they
going to have to say "puts a wall token with defender into play?"

What fun!

Actually, I'm QUITE in favor of this change, but I will be sad if it
breaks a number of the Johnny-style decks. Then again, depending on
how they errata old cards, it might just lead to new ones... ;)

I'm guessing it'll have to receive errata since the creature type
"Legend" won't exist anymore.

Tell me about it. I've got a nasty Legend reanimator deck that
uses Patriarch's Bidding, and without being able to call Legend as
a creature type, the deck will lose a lot of its punch.

Perhaps you could call "Rock-Sled" instead. I think that's almost as
good...

Hmmm...I'll have to think about that. <G>

Probably the former, as its closest to the normal function of the card
(Identical, in fact...)

Yup.

Yes. There are also about half a dozen cards (Walls that can attack if
something else happens, Animate Wall, and Rolling Stones) that will need to be
errataed. Anything that makes Walls naturally will be errataed to say "with
Defender". Meanwhile, there may also be errata to cards like Juggernaut and
Elven Riders. I don't know whether they'll just be kept basically the same or
they'll be changed to "creatures with Defender". Probably not, but it's a
question that's sure to be asked...

Hm.....another thing I hadn't thought of. I wonder if cards that make
it so that creatures cannot attack will make the creature gain
defender. Probably too unwieldy. On the other hand, if they came up
with a keyword for "~this~ can't block" -- say "Aggressor" -- then
cards like Pacifism could say "enchanted creature gains Defender and
Aggressor". I don't think I like that though...
