No sound in window 7 upon installation

Hello,
I just installed window 7( I had vista before) on my laptop but don't have sound for anything through speakers, but able to listen sound through earphones. please suggest what to do?

Try updating the sound card drivers via your laptop manufacturer's website first to see if that occurs.

go to Control Panel, choose small icons in the top right corner, go to sounds, in the first tab, be sure speaker is selected, if you don't see speakers, right clicl in the whie area, and select Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices, then OK, see if it helps
