I am trying to get all the performance I can out of the Battlefield 1942 multiplayer demo. It runs a little slow on my box which makes it hard to kill people efficiently ;). I was wondering if anyone had made any changes that drastically improved their performace in the demo? Thanks.

go into run in the start menu, type msconfig, and go into startup, disable any crap you dont need to run on your system,

next try lowering res of your system, also enable vsync

also drop all detail, eg smoke and fancey stuff.

also whats your system spec's?

we cant help ya much if we dont know what kind of system you got

when i try to play this game, it goes to a black screen like its getting ready to load, then after a second or 2 it goes back to the desktop and nothing happens. I tried reinstalling it a few times, and it still does it. My friend had the same problem with the single player version, on his Alienware laptop. Anyone else have this happen?
Btw, i'm using Win2k

I think the readme file addresses this issue. I think it has something to do with the refresh rate.

At least you guys can play the game. It locks up on my brand-spanking new computer. Ticks me off BIG TIME.
