I can not install win 7 on brand new acer aspire D257 netbook, when i put xp ins

Hello,i can not install win 7 on brand new acer aspire D257 netbook, when i put xp installation goes ok but for win 7 is not good some error occured on screen with conection computer with peripherials,I/O something like that,is it possible that my bootable cd with win7 is not good but works on others computers or something else

why windows 7 on a netbook?
netbooks are cheap and slow
windows 7 is a bulky OS
use the XP, it will use less RAM and make your system more responsive
