Best vcard for less then 200 bucks

I have the so sorry Geforce 4 mx 420 running on the newest asus board (nforce2) 512 mem and i know nothing about dirext 9.0 and with that ati cards support for it or not. i have read the newest geforce cards have support. is this somthing important in the future gamer. For 200 bucks whats my best performance for price options.

try to get a radeon 9700 non-pro you can get one around 200, maybe 230. It's the best bang for the buck.

teh 9700nonpro will last you for quite a while. i doubt if you would be disappointed, as your gettin 90% of the performance of one of the top 3 cards available today

thanks i tohught so i was hoping for an nvidia card i love them but for 200 bucks its looks like ati. Is the 9700 directx 9.0 i heard thats is going to be important for doom 3

the 9700 will be fine for doom3, you'll have all the eye candy !

but WHY do you want Nvidia? simply because they have the name "Nvidia" right? so having a name automatically makes something better........

I think Sony is mostly overpriced junk, their speakers especially suck. But every other person in Japan has Sony this, Sony that.
