Loaning players out

Has anyone else had the problem of loaning young players out to lower league
clubs, and then finding that when they come back after 3 months/end of
season that they've hardly played any first team football, or even reserve
team football?

Even though I'm not paying for their wages over that time, it does seem a
waste in the progress and improvement of the players!

Maybe if I offered to pay their wages, they may get more out of them

Are they loan listed ??? You can try to offer for loan but it has a few
bugs (you need to pick the teams before changing to loan)

click the offer to clubs button, select clubs first and then change type to
loan the clubs will disappear but it appears the gam still offers the player
to clubs on loan, give it a couple of days and clubs should respond. Though
it does still look like the game treats loans as transfers most clubs will
come back saying they dont think a player of that class will sign for them,
they never seem to say sorry but we already have 4 playes on loan and can
not take him.

It depends on the team West Ham had 3 right backs on loan from me at one
stage. While Ed Brand's played nearly every game at Reading (or QPR) and
wants a rest. You could try to loan players out to specific clubs who don't
have many players in that position, they could introduce a function like the
job centre for staff where clubs say what position loans they need and you
could offer them a player in that positon.

Nah, clubs just do that (in the game at least, I'm not aware of it happening
in real life). It's like the way many clubs will sit there and keep trying
to bring in loans despite already having the maximum (and now in FM they get
really upset and cry and throw their toys out of their pram when they are
told they can't have any more loan signings - why does this make me think of
Leeds?). They get loan players to give them squad depth rather then to put
them in the first team. This makes sense in a computer game and I've done it
myself (why should I give experience to a player I don't own and am unlikely
to buy or move one of my long term players into the reserves to give room
for a loan signing). Of course it's not realistic, you'd get a reputation as
an utter bastard and no one else would want to go on loan to you, the clubs
wouldn't want to loan you players and your dressing room would be miserable.
But they haven't coded that into the game yet, so you and the computer
players can abuse loan signings as much as you want.

I reckomend doing what I do. Never loan someone without a recall clause, and
check on them every month to see if they are getting games. Quite often they
won't even get reserve games for the club they've gone to and if they play
nothing in the space of a month (when no injured) I recall them right away.

In the last CM I used to get players to be loaned out for the summer, and
come back after like one or two games into the new season. Nice to not have
to pay their salary for the summer. :)

clever attitude, however when managing a big club there are many players
that you can loan out to save their wages and just run out their contracts
:)
use the above great idea only to the ones that have a potencial
