I recently "aquired" a Creative Labs Gefore 2 GTS which is great replacement for my Voodoo 3 3500 TV in my second PC. Anyway Problem! It is lacking a fan and heatsink......

Could anyone recommend one to me, I need one that isnt going to stop me using the PCI slot adjcent to the AGP...can anyone point me in the right direction. The zalman ZM-50(the smaller of the heatpipe ones) looked perfect but it is not recommended for Geforce 2 GTS (arg!) so only the larger Zalman one is available that would stop me using the PCI slot next to the AGP (I think, also it is pretty expensive).

Thanks in advance
Julian

I dont think u wud need a Fan on the GPU. A simple Heat sink that the card came with is fine, IMO.

It doesnt even have a heatsink on it......can you tell me where I could get a suitable heatsink?

Would the Zalman ZM50 be fine if a small heatsink is all that is required?

I was given it buy someone else who had replaced the card, so I guess that he nicked the heatsink/fan for something else!

I would not run that card without a heatsink and fan. Let me do some research and I will find you one.

Ok I found a couple of options. At directron.com they have a Iceberg 4 that says it will work on gForce 2. Also they have a Thermaltake Crystal Orb for VGA cooling but it doesnt state if it will work on a gForce2 or not but it looks like it will.If neither cooler will fit properly you can allways use Artic Silver Thermal Adhesive. But make sure you go to there web site and read directions if you havent used this stuff before. The Vantec is 8.99 and the Crystal Orb is 15.99. I used to have that same card it was a good one in its day. Good luck.

I would get a vantec part with some of the artic silver adhesive.
If you get one without a fan I would suggest one of those tornado PCI slot coolers that sit next to the AGP slot.. I used to use of of those on my GTS that didnt have a fan on it and it worked great.

I'll sell you a notebook CPU cooler that's the same size as most GeForce2 coolers but of far better quality, for $5 plus shipping. I've sold a few of these on eBay, all happy customers. They are around 1/4 inch thick, and can be affixed with any thermal epoxy (including the most common type, JB-Weld, available at Wal-Mart).
