Hi there, I un-installed Norton Internet Security as Norton Antivirus
was not enabling automatically and after un-installing another program
the firewall rules were wrong and I couldnt get web access without
turning the firewall off. When I tried to re-install NIS I couldnt
because files and folders were still in my machine, I deleted those...
Since doing this all kinds of things stopped working; I cant browse to
secure web pages; when I try to search from the start button the window
opens but no text fills in; I cant re-install NIS properly; cant access
system restore, Windows Media Player wont open.
I used registyfix.com to try and sort it out but no luck. I have
figured out from a help page that msjava.dll cannot be found.
Any help you could give would be appreciated...

You are up against the SP2 setting for no Java, I think. See:
