When I dial-up my ISP, the message is "Error 31: a device attached to the
system is not funtioning" and the call is dropped. This is an XP system
error... It's not a modem or ISP problem; both have been checked and
tested. How do I troubleshoot and correct this problem? Please advise.
Thanks. Vince

There is a good chance that you are not using the correct driver.. if you
fail to find one (don't use DriverGuide), buy a new modem..

It's not the modem drivers... I already replaced the modem and the
drivers... Any other ideas?

Time to do an 'sfc /scannow' (type the command into the RUN box) or a repair
install..
