I read somewhere that all of Gainwards 5600 ultra cards were rev.2, I found this one for sale but was not sure.

Also, I've gotten into EQ lately and noticed with my GF3 (using FRAPs) I get about 40fps constantly. @1024x768, 85hz refresh with rates set with refreshforce.
Is this normal? I would expect FPS to go higher when standing still but they generally stay about the same no matter what I do.

Anyway I have a nice new 21inch monitor on the way so I would like to get a faster card than my GF3 to run highres w/aa. I want the 5600ultra rev2 but cant find one that is actually rev2!!
The 9700 nonpro would be my first choice but I do not want to format.

It's probably more like an original FX 5600 Ultra equipped with better memory and overclocked in factory. Don't know for sure.

With your Geforce 3 you most probably have 'Vsync' on. With a 85 Hz refresh rate, as long as your FPS remains between 85 and 42.5, it's 'rounded down' to 42.5. That's one image every two refreshes. Vsync produces a more steady image so I would keep it on.

I figured if vsync was on it would be hitting 84-85fps constantly, at least thats what some other games in the past have done (Q3A).

Thanks for the reply!

Likely none of them will say REV.2, they will likely just slip in the 400/400s. There may even be a contractual obligation not to mention it (makes all the old 350/350s crap).

They should still be pretty much forced to tell you the clock speeds if you ask (it also gives you something to hold them to if you order it and it turns out to be Rev.1). And I've found most resellers show the diff. clock speeds. 2 of my local resellers here had the PowerColor R9700'pro' clocks prominently displayed on their web ads.

Unfortunately you may have to do alot of searching as I doubt they will chage their boxes with Rev.2 on it (I think you'll only see the actually words/letters Rev.2 on the card itself and then likely somewhere hard to see and with small letters).

And I'd say no the above link is NOT to a REV.2
<A HREF="http://www.gamepc.com/labs/view_content.asp?id=gw56ufc&page=1" target="_new">THIS</A> article mentions that it will be a 760/XP. So I don't think that's one.
BTW, as I said in another thread, Schweet Card and Nice Review.
